Start Line:
At the main entrance to the West Park Leisure Centre in Long Eaton at 11am.

The Route:
This 18 mile ride sees us ride along the Erewash Canal to the edge of Ilkeston, seeing West Park and the Erewash Trail heading North.
We then cut across on one of the trails shortcuts to join the old Nottingham Canal following the Erewash Trail South bound until we reach Bramcote where we can stop off and look at the Hemlock Stone.
After this we continue to Chilwell before voting for the Attenborough River Route back to West Park or the Toton Nature Reserve, both great routes back Long Eaton.
If we go through Attenborough we see its village, the nature reserve, the River Trent and the edge of Trent Meadows. If we head through Toton we ride through part of its Nature Reserve and cross the famous Toton Sidings before riding through part of the marshlands which surround the River Erewash leading us back to West Park and the finish line.

How long will it take?
We book out the ride for 6 hours, obviously it never takes that long but some groups like to stop a lot or have a chat at rest stops, sometimes we break for food at pubs or cafes and sometimes we have older riders who are slower than younger ... sometimes vice versa :D

Refreshments:
There is sometimes a coffee van and a snack van at Bramcote Park which is about three quarters of the way round, also if we take the Attenborough Route we pass the visitor centre which has a coffee shop.

Important Information:
1 - Please ride responsibly and give walkers right of way where ever possible.
2 - Helmets must be worn as this section of the Erewash Trail has a few road sections, anyone coming along without a helmet may be turned away.
3 - Children up to the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Please ensure you are physically fit enough for an 18 mile ride even though it is mainly flat.
4 - You will be responsible for yourself and your bike so pack patches and extra inner tubes etc.
