For our last summer F4F Bank Holiday Monday ride we will be travelling along quite country roads out from Cockermouth for our "ice cream ride" to Maryport Aquarium.

Yes it is a 27 & a half miler but rest assured this group is always "willing to wait" while you may need to walk up that daunting hill & traveling at the leisurely pace more suited to our Back 2 Basics beginners following-on members.

We will be continuing to include outdoor socially distanced drinks & snack breaks with a great view.

We start this ride by travelling out from Cockermouth towards Papcastle then using the back roads to Great Broughton.
We will then follow the NCN cycle way towards the villages of Broughton and Camerton.
At Camerton we will continue towards the coast & Flimby along the country lanes & then onto Maryport Harbour stopping at the Aquarium for our "alfresco" socially distanced packed lunch stop.

Road bikes with slick tyres are included on this bank holiday ride but may find some parts of the route bumpy.

Whenever possible we always include socially distanced drinks breaks along the way, &
while stopping at Mayport aquarium there is the chance to purchase ice cream for those who wish to :)

We always travel at the slowest rider's pace with support and encouragement, so no one is ever left behind. This is to enhances your enjoyment of leisurely cycling within the safety of our group. So this is not a ride for trying to beat your personal best on Strava!

We will be returning by the longer, safer cycle way route back out from Flimby due to increased holiday traffic and as the weather is looking good for Monday.

All riders are now required to provide all their own equipment to comply with self-sufficient rules. Please check the conversation tab below before attending.
You will also need to bring with you a road worthy bike, your helmet, clothes you are comfortable cycling in, easy to remove layers work best, a waterproof jacket, (as the weather can change quickly along our routes), a cold drink or small flask for along the way & snacks for our "alfresco stops" if needed.
A spare inner tube that fits your bike is required as is a hand pump with the correct fitting for your inner tube valve, (just in case).

Please do not attend the ride if you have Covid-19 symptoms, have someone in your household who does or if you have been asked to remain at home by the UK Government track and trace system.
Any concerns or questions you may have just message me on the conversation tab below.
