This is a guided ride, led by Swansea University's ride leaders. Leaving from the Santander Bike station outside the School of Management, we'll be following a traffic-free section of route 4 of the National Cycle Network to meet up with colleagues riding from Singleton. The ride will go past the Prince of Wales Dock and cross the Tawe over the Sail Bridge before arriving at the Environment Centre for some well-earned fairtrade delights.
Other than a few road crossings, we'll be on entirely traffic free cycle paths with minimal hills on the three mile route, so ideal if you are not very confident on a bike.
We'll be spending around half an hour at the cafe, before returning along the same route. There will be a ride leaving Singleton at the same time, so you will be able to continue to Singleton after the cafe if need be.
All you need are a roadworthy bike and a helmet, and some money for the cafe - there is also a shop with a good selection of environmentally friendly wares, so you might want to bring some extra cash. If you don't have a bike of your own you could always hire a Santander Bike for the trip.
Don't worry if you aren't a confident cyclist, this will be a very gentle ride and we never leave anyone behind!
