Family Cycling Festival to Newport City Centre

We will meet at the Newport Family Cycling Festival site at Tredegar House ready to complete some basic bike checks and begin the cycle ride at 1pm.
From Tredegar House the ride follows cyclepaths through Duffryn, Maesglas and Newport until we pop out on the riverfront, a couple of miles of breezing along the river cyclepath brings us to an enjoyable and social refreshment stop at one of the Friars Walk cafes.
The return journey will bring us back to the Tredegar House Orangery where there will be a celebration and refreshments to mark the end of the 2017 Family Cycling Festival.
Please bring your bike and helmet, the means to remedy a puncture should it occur and suitable clothing for the activity and the weather.

Please bring a bike lock.

For all rides please ensure that your brakes are functional and that your wheels are turning freely, tyres should be firm enough that you can't dimple them with your thumb and your chain should be oiled.
