This is a Beginners Ride

This Ride will consist of a bit of a chat before the ride, talking over Signals and Etiquette. Can even speak about the bikes we're riding, all depends on the level of cyclists.

Beginners Rides are for beginners who would like to try riding in a small group with an experienced rider at the helm. My rides will be 10/11 miles at a pace to suit all. So could be at a speed as little as 9mph average. We ride to the slowest riders pace. There will be experienced people on hand to aid with any issues on the ride and if you have any questions before please let me know and any after, can be discussed over a coffee/tea at the cafe stop.

Starting from Sherfield on Loddon, this route takes us out towards, behind Bramley via lanes, West End Green, Stratfield Mortimer Stratfield Saye and back to Sherfield, where the Cafe awaits us. We avoid as much main road as possible, but you may need to ride on a couple of B roads, or where mentioned the A33, so I can mix up the routes, but this will be minimal where possible.

Bike Maintenance is crucial for you and the group to enjoy the ride. On route punctures can and will happen, so please be sure you have at least one spare tube and the tools to fix it. You will have plenty of people willing to help, so no need to worry. Also making sure your bike is well maintained will make the ride easier for you and your bike will last longer. Any questions please ask before or during the ride. I will be happy to help.
Weekend rides will consist of an obligatory Café stop. We usually stop at the Bramley Village Bakery, Bramley or House28 in Sherfield on Loddon. Both take Card, with £5 spend.
Children under sixteen are welcome however they must be accompanied by at least one parent, and should be comfortable with riding on the road in with a group of other riders. Please also be sure they will be able to handle the length of ride on the day.

We will take a number of photos before, during and after the ride which will be posted on the Fat Lad At The Back Facebook pages.

If you wish to join us on this ride then please register your interest here, and also join our facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/102864370257196/ where any last minute changes etc are likely to be announced.
