We will head out onto Coombes road and ride down to the Southern end of the Monsal trail. Its about 3/4 mile to the trail from the showground and it's a very quiet road. Once we join the trail we will ride to the other end at Blackwell mill and then return via the same route. We will stop at Millers Dale station for a break on the way back. There is a cafe here or bring your own picnic. Lots of space to sit down. There are several tunnels and the scenery in places is stunning. Lights might come in handy for the longer tunnels.
Total distance for this ride is approx 22 miles and there is very little elevation change. My 13 year old son will be riding this with us so feel free to bring the kids.
Suitable for all bike types though skinny tyred road bikes might not be the best choice.
