Enough of this silly hilly road nonsense, lets have a flat and gentle pootle along the river bank.
Starting at the public car park at Trent Lock, we'll pick up the path that runs along the river and canals out to the café at the new canalside visitor centre at Beeston Lock for refreshments, and then pootle back.
Ideal for those less confident on a bike, relaxed and friendly pace to suit whoever is at the back of the group - no one gets dropped and left behind.
This is not a ride to try on a road bike, but everything else from hybrids to mountain bikes will be fine. The paths are surfaced, but the first mile is fairly poor quality compared to the rest. If it rains you and the bike will get dirty.
Bring a working bike, a working helmet, a working sense of humour, a spare inner tube to fit your bike just in case, and some money for the café stop. Dress for the weather which may be full waterproofs or hopefully some good strong sun cream!
