Car park at Halfpenny Green Airport.

This ride starts from the car park at Halfpenny Green Airport, which we have had permission to use. We will ride through the village of Bobbington and have a long drag of a climb to Six Ashes crossroads. The climb is quite gradual but winds around corners and goes up in stages with the steepest section near the top.

**** We shall be stopping for refreshments at the Six Ashes Inn as Stables Tea Rooms will be closed for annual holidays. ***

Take care at the crossroads where we turn right onto the A458 – the main road between Stourbridge and Bridgnorth. After just over half a mile we turn left down a lane down a very steep hill where the road surface is bumpy with potholes but generally has light traffic. At the bottom of the hill we turn left into a lane with Stables Tea Rooms on our right. *** Sorry - not stopping here this time.

Continue along the lane to Tuck Hill and then turn right and then left at T-junction onto Batfield Road. This lane winds around corners and descends to join Morfe Lane. After a short uphill section the road then starts a long descent to meet a staggered junction with the A458. Cross straight over and continue to enjoy a long descent and winding corners. After junction with Morfe Hall Lane turn left along a winding lane with poor surface in places, particularly through farmyard and near old watermill. After the watermill and short climb turn sharp left at ‘Y’ junction and then at next T-junction turn right towards Bobbington. Before reaching the village, continue along Leaton Lane to emerge within sight of Halfpenny Green Airport.

This ride is part of Age UK Dudley’s Get Cycling for 50 Plus scheme and riders can make a donation on the day if they wish. Thank You
