There's nothing like a good bike ride to get you in a good mood! Starting at the other end of Dearham, at the top of Row Brow by the last houses before leaving Dearham, CA15 7JU, .on street parking is available, but as usual, please park with consideration to the local residents.

We head out of Dearham and get a nice warm up over the first couple of miles. We will pass through Gilcruix and Plumbland before heading for Aspatria. In Aspatria we will go along the main street (can be little busy with traffic), and then turn off to head to Hayton, then down to Allonby (we get some lovely gentle descents on this route, just sit on your bike and let gravity do the rest.) We are not quite going to Allonby though, at the main road we will turn left and it is then 0.1 miles to The Moody Cow. There can be a lot of fast moving traffic on this road however, so there is also the option to cross the road and use the cycle path (this path is made out of loose stones and is not great for road bikes, but doo-able, if people prefer).

The Moody Cow is a fantastic little café stop at the Blue Dial Caravan Park – at the moment it is running a limited menu, just take away, but you can get hot and cold drinks, milkshakes, icecream and cakes. It is all socially distant friendly. Once we have refreshed ourselves we will head back the way we came, but turn right to take us back to Gilcrux. Bit more uphill here, but find a comfortable gear and we’ll be in Gilcrux before you know again. Again, if anyone feels the need to walk, then we are Not Too Posh To Push. Breeze rides go at the pace of the slowest person, and we will always wait for each other. Once back in Gilcrux, it’s a matter of retracing our steps to return to our starting point in Dearham. Road surface quality varies on this ride, but is suitable for all bike types, and electric bikes are also welcome.

What you will need for the ride: a roadworthy bike (we will carry out a bike check before we set off), a helmet, suitable clothing (please keep an eye on the weather forecast and dress appropriately), spare inner tube, bottle of water, snack, and some money to buy refreshments. We will socially distance in line with Government advice during the ride. If you have any symptoms of Covid-19, or have been in contact with someone who has symptoms, please cancel your place on the ride. Anyone who attends the ride but has symptoms will not be allowed to join the ride.

First-timers welcome!
