Glasson to Morecambe
This new ride is put on as a bit of a mystery ride. Due to the distance to the start it has not had a pre ride reccy, so what you see, on the day, is what you get.
Parking and the start point will be confirmed shortly.
Setting out from Glasson, via the dock, we use the cycle path up to Lancaster alongside the river Lune. We will pass the castle then cross over the river Lune to Morecambe. Lunch will be somewhere on the promenade.
For the return we will meander along the promenade, with views across the bay, towards Heysham where we will turn back towards the river Lune and cross via the Millenium Bridge. A spin through Lancaster and we will join the Lancaster canal and use the towpath all the way back to Glasson Dock.
We'll ride at a steady pace of 10 - 12 mph on this ride and we'll keep our pace at a level so that we can all stay together.
Remember, this is not a race, but a leisurely ride at a pace to suit the slowest in the group!
Please check your bike over the night before the ride, tyres inflated, all bolts tight, lubricated. Clothing, helmet & lights checked and ready. Please ensure you have a pump and a couple of spare tubes in case of punctures and a good secure lock.
It would be great to have some new & some familiar faces on this ride, you're all welcome & I look forward to riding with you.
Please arrive at least 15 mins before the ride start time,(9.45) So that we are able to get away at the stated start time
