Hailey Park to Caerffili Castle Loop

Lovely ride from Hailey Park up the traffic free Taf trail through Tongwynlais and Taffs Well, (some short on-road sections) then back on the cycle route, up a steady climb and another on-road section through a residential area into Caerffili. It's a steady undulating uphill there.

Surface is tarmac most of the way, with tree roots / debris in places, suitable for all bikes with the appropriate tyres.

We'll stop to gather breath en route and won't leave anyone behind

There's an (outside / optional inside with masks etc) refreshment stop at the cafe in Caerffili tourist Centre, overlooking the castle, (approx 30 mins). There are toilets available at the cafe stop.
We'll take a group photo (optional) there, then retrace our tracks back down to Hailey Park via the Nantgarw China Works and lower Taf Trail route.

Please bring money/cards if you would like to buy refreshments.

It is recommended to wear a helmet, also bring a spare inner tube and tools to change it if you have them, and a bike lock for the coffee stop if you want to go inside the cafe.

Please do not sign up for the ride if you feel unwell or are showing symptoms of Covid-19 or have tested positive in the last 14 days.
