Starting from outside Sowerby Bridge Swimming Pool we will head along Wakefield Road to West Vale before picking up Saddleworth Road. From there, the gradient increases gently as we leave the houses behind and head to the peace of Barkisland and Ringstone Reservoir. After that climb, we take a steep, short decent to Boothwood Reservoir and head over Rishworth hills to Baitings Reservoir and then across to Sowerby before decending back to Sowerby Bridge.
This is a ride suitable for cyclists who can tackle 2000ft of climbing so it is not recommended for anyone without that level of fitness . The pace will be steady, speed is not our focus but you must be able to cope with a higher level of climbing. If you are unsure if this ride is fir you, please get in touch prior to the ride.
We will make sure everyone is looked after, we can stop as many times as people need to rest and we will support anyone and everyone who turns up and wants to ride a bike.
Please make sure you bring a bike, a helmet, gloves, a waterproof jacket, water and food, a fully charged mobile phone, money and inner tube/pump.
