Starting from - Starting at Leigh College Sale Way Leigh this Horwich ride social mixed are heading out to Warrington to see the finish of stage 5 of the tour of Britain. Please be aware there is a height restriction at the carpark, and park at the college end rather than the holiday Inn.

We plan to leave at 1pm from Leigh and ride to Warrington (the route is on road and cycle paths which miss a lot of the main Warrington traffic ). We will spend approximately 1/ 1/2 hours to watch the cyclists arrive, participate in the general atmosphere and have a snack. ( i am hoping there will be some stalls and entertainment. We will see the beautiful golden gates at the entrance to the Town Hall. We will then ride back to the start via the pretty areas of Grappenhall and Lymm aiming to get back around 6pm. This is flexible time depending on the event and the group.

The route is mainly road and cycle paths with a tiny amount of off road.

Although helmets are only recommended by law and not deemed to be essential, anyone not wearing a helmet will not be able to join the ride. Please be self-sufficient and arm yourself with spare inner tubes, bike levers and pump. Don’t forget your pennies for the event. Please ensure you bring along a drink for the ride. Also check you brakes and gears on your bike at least the night before.
