Humber-Barton Viking Loop ride well– Achieve Potentials Social Ride The first half of the route follows the trail used by the Vikings. Once over the bridge we head towards South Ferriby along the south bank foreshore. Some of this section can be very uneven and muddy. It is not recommended for road bikes, or though with a little care, and possible walking some of the worst parts, it can be managed. Once at South Ferriby there is a substantial hill to negotiate. There is no shame in walking so this could be an option for some. We can meet at the top and take in the wonderful views of the valley bellow. The route then turns towards Barton. The going gets much easier and is on quiet country roads. We then pass through Barton and make our way back towards the bridge. This ride of around 13 miles requires a reasonable level of fitness and preferably either a hybrid or mountain bike for the first half of the ride. It is a ride with some great scenery and well worth the extra effort For further information contact [email protected] / 07598263179.
