I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream – A 28-mile eight shaped bike ride to Haughton

A 28-mile eight shaped ride along country lanes in Shropshire and Staffordshire to the Red Lion Ice Cream Farm Haughton. The ride will start from the Car park in Albrighton (WV7 3JB) tucked in between the Crown and the Co-Op. The stay is free of charge. We will set off from Albrighton and follow country lanes to Haughton. We will climb the Shackerley Lane all the way to Boscobel House, where we will stop for a quick drink, a fabulous view of the Shropshire Hills and a photo. We will follow the road to Bishop’s Wood and freewheel to the A5 crossing at Ivetsy Bank. Country lanes through little villages: Wheaton Aston, Marston, Little Onn, Church Eaton will guide us all to a short section of the A518 (0.3 miles) in Haughton, where we will stop off at the Red Lion Ice Cream Farm (great ice cream and various animals). The return leg follows lanes through Allimore Green, Apton, Church Eaton, High Onn, Brineton, Blymhill, Tong and Cosford.
We will aim for avg speed around 11mph.
Please make sure your bike is in a roadworthy condition and you are wearing comfortable clothing. Please bring a helmet, spare inner tube, drinks, and snacks (if required) and money for café stop. Slapping some sun lotion might also be a good idea.
A GPX/TCX etc file formats can be downloaded from https://ridewithgps.com/routes/33607516. It’s not necessary as we will stick together, and no-one will be left behind.

STAY ALERT-CONTROL THE VIRUS
This ride will follow British Cycling Covid Guidelines. Maximum 6 participants (this includes the ride leader) during the ride participants must adhere to the government 1 meter plus rulings (2 metres apart where possible). Face mask are optional.
Wash your hands regularly please bring pocket size hand sanitizer for your own safety.
