Get the New Year rolling with this suburban adventure. This ride maximises use of traffic-free cycle routes which radiate out from the Avenham Park, below Preston town centre. Following the Old Railway and Tramway routes, the ride loops to the outskirts of Penwortham, Lostock Hall and Bamber Bridge before heading back to Avenham Park, passing through many, pretty greenscapes. You are challenged to count the number of bridges we cross enroute - some are not so obvious as others!

The ride is suitable for most types of bicycles. Riders should check the weather forecast and come dressed suitable for the weather conditions. It is advisable to bring a drink and snack for the ride. Please also carry an inner tube to fit the wheel size of your bike. In the event of a puncture, this makes it easier for the Ride Leader to sort out, if assistance is required. Children must be accompanied by a riding adult and must wear a helmet. If you have a health condition that may require self-medication, please carry this with you and, if you feel it appropriate, you can inform the Ride Leader of this in confidence.
