Starting point

Glamorgan
CF5 2LN

A lovely route on mainly quiet roads out of Cardiff through Fairwater and Pentrebane and into the more rural Vale of Glamorgan and taking in some of the villages along the River Ely (St Bride's-Super-Ely, Peterstone-Super-Ely, Gwern-y-Steeple, Pendoylan, Clawdd-Coch, Hensol before returning via St Georges Super Ely, Drop and St Fagans).

We'll take it steady so we can enjoy the countryside. Don't worry about the hills on this route too much - we will regroup at the top if anyone is stuggling and it is fine to get off and walk if you need to so please don’t let this put you off joining us.

Undulating ride from Insole Court in Cardiff, heading west into the Vale, with a stop at Llanerch Vineyard for a cuppa. Some hills, mostly gentle with a steeper downhill section into St Fagans.

Wide and quiet city roads, quiet lanes in the Vale with the option of a short section of the traffic free Ely trail at St Fagans as we head back, depending on conditions.

We'll stop half way into the ride at Llanerch Vineyard, which has toilets and bike racks (though you may wish to bring a lock for your bike) as the bike are left unseen from inside the Vineyard.

Helmets, warm weather clothes (including gloves and waterproof jacket, depending on conditions), spare tube and tools, some cash for the coffee stop should all be taken.

We never leave anyone behind
