This is a re-run of round 4 of this training series - set on the easier side of the scale but with plenty of testy climbs!
We’ll meet at 9am on Sunday 18th February at Insole Court, Llandaff, CF5 2LN, there is a free car park at Insole Court and also on the road opposite the entrance. Unfortunately the café doesn’t open until 10am on a Sunday, but should be open by the time we get back!
Heading out towards St Fagans via Pentrebane Road, we’ll turn right at the crossroads towards Rhydlafar and then climb past De Courceys Manor to Pentyrch.
Heading downhill for a while then on through Creigau vilage, Groesfaen, then on to a short climb to Clawdd Coch, across to Hensol, then a long steady climb, then a short distance on the A48 before turning left onto the next climb.
A bit of downhill before heading up to Welsh St Donats. Back towards Miskin for a welcome Café stop at Llanerch Vineyard. Heading back home through Pendoylan, Gwern Y Steeple, Peterstone-Super-Ely and back to finish at Insole Court.
The route in total is just under 33 miles with over 2200 ft of climbing. A shortish ride but plenty of climbing en-route, a good one to get in the legs for tougher challenges ahead!
As normal please come prepared with food and drink and the usual tools, and keep your fingers crossed for good weather!
