The car park lies at the very end of the Esplanade just adjacent to Avenham Park. Parking is free but there are height restrictions; there is however unrestricted parking on the approach road should this cause a problem. There are no toilet facilities at this site. PR1 4LX

This clock wise circular route leaves the car park and heads through Avenham Park towards The Preston dock lands and passes along a variety of tracks and trails which weave around the outskirts of Preston. We will lunch at at Broughton, don’t forget your pennies, after which we start to close the loop and return via the Brockholes nature reserve and then we return to start point along the river trail.
Elevation

The Guild Wheel is a circular route around Preston which has some beautiful sections along the River Ribble, taking us through Avenham Park and on towards the Docklands. Ride leaders: Val Bourne and Celia Rishton. Elevation: 800ft. Riding time 2 .5 hours. Overall time 3.5 hours

The route is varied and mostly traffic free. There are some small inclines but these are short lived and easily tackled.

We will stop for lunch at the Broughton Inn which lies about halfway around this circular ride.

Be sure to check your bike brakes, gears chain etc the night before the ride. Please bring spare inner tubes, tyre levers and a pump in case of punctures. Helmets must be worn on this ride. First aid consumables will be carried by the leaders but must be administered by yourself. In order to keep all cyclists safe we kindly ask you conduct a lateral flow test before this ride.
