A really gentle ride for anyone heading to the traffic free LetsRide cycling festival in Cardiff, using quiet roads and cycle paths.

We will cycle gently down Greenway Road and along New Road, keeping together in a nice group on the road before joining the cycle path alongside the shops on Newport Road. When we get to the Royal Oak we will go down through Splott to use the quieter roads - over the railway bridge, turning onto Carlisle Street and along Sanquhar Street. We reach the iconic "Magic Roundabout" with its interesting traffic sign art, and then we move back onto cycle path for the rest of the ride. We cycle through Callaghan Square where there is a statue of the Marquess of Bute who is known for building Cardiff Docks and developing the coal and iron industries across South Wales. Then we cycle up to St Mary Street which is closed for the car-free day and where we can join the LetsRide cycling festival route!
