Starting point

Oxfordshire

From Shrivenham on the Highworth road and a few climbs to get us to Buscott, then a short ride on the A417 to St Johns Priory we we can leave any traffic behind and make our way North to Kencott where we start the return via Alvescott, Black Bourton and Clanfield. On leaving the cafe we go South through Radcott, the bump that gets us into Faringdon and from there we make our back via Fernham and Longcot

PS the Lumps on the elevation profile are very exagerated, they are there but they are not as bad as they look. Low easy gears and a bit of twiddling will see you up 'em

A new ride but using roads many of us have ridden in the past; a few lumps at the beginning and one towards the end, but FLAT in between

We will be on country lanes and roads, so bring your road bike. Thos knobbly tryes on your MTB would be sapping your energy

We will be stopping at Blakes Kitchen in Clanfield.(17 miles) This family run business is fast becoming the cafe to go to for cyclists from Oxfordhire, Gloucs and W berks . The coffee n cake pic was taken there After coffee its only 11 miles and 1 lump to get home

Don’t forget a full water bottle with your favourite thirst quencher. Govt Guidance means face masks are no longer mandatory but we would ask you to bring a face mask as some venues may request it and also first aid may be required. For all our rides you should bring at least a spare inner tube and a pump. If your wheels are bolted-on then a spanner that fits the wheel nuts is also essential. Helmets are not compulsory but most definitely recommended. You should dress appropriately for the weather, and consider bringing your mobile phone along with cash or debit card for the coffee stop. Some café’s only take card payments.

We welcome new comers to our ride group, but we want you to enjoy the ride so please consider the route, distance and terrain. If this ride is likely to be a bit difficult then check out our other rides which we put on for newbies and returners and join us on something easier
