Starting point

SN1 2EB

From the County Ground, the ride follows the route of the Wilts and Berks Canal for a short while and The Eastern Flyer (see Swindon Cycle Map) to the White Hart Roundabout, where we take the flyover cycle bridge towards the Supermarket, we cross the road and head past Oxford University's Bodleian Library store (did you know that it was there?). At the White House (no not that one) we take a side road and a bit of track to get to Nightingale Lane and Nightingale Woods, taking care not to miss the turn to Roves Farm, After coffee we complete our loop of nightingale woods before retracing our "steps" back to the town centre

A gentle flat ride from the Town Centre to one of Swindon's popular destinations.

Much of this route is on cycle path and will follow the Eastern Flyer, there is some off road gravel travels but the surfaces are fine for all but the most delicate of bikes

If you're going to rove to Rove's Farm it's best to have a coffee there before you come back

Whilst not mandatory for Adults, Helmets are recommended. Children under 16 Must wear a helmet. Please bring a spare inner tube, tyre levers and a pump which suits your tyre. Please also bring a face covering; you are not required to wear it on the ride, but some places ask you to wear one indoors and in the event that first aid is required. Please note many cafes only accept card payments at the moment.. Please dress appropriately for the weather

This ride is ideal to those new to cycling or those who have recently re-discovered what a great way to get around cycling is. Your ride leader will take you on on a safe gentle ride in which no one will get left behind
