This is a relaxed and scenic ride to Windsor Great Park, through it, and onto Windsor Farm Shop, our café stop. Returning to Bushy Park via Shepperton Lock.
OUR RIDE!
We leave Bushy Park through pedestrian gates and cycle through Sunbury-upon-Thames to Virginia Water. Entering Windsor Great Park through a(nother) pedestrian gate, our next couple of miles are super quiet and virtually traffic-free.
Windsor Farm Shop, our café stop, is next at 22.5miles... yippee! To get here, we will have been cycling for 2 to 2.25 hours at 11mph average.
We return on B-roads through Datchet, Staines, Laleham along the river, and the lovely Shepperton towpath. We cycle past Teddington station at 36miles; those who wish should feel free to take a convenient train home from here.
We shall be riding at a friendly comfortable pace, altogether in a neat and tidy group as far as possible, aiming to average 18kph/11mph over the distance (this means that we shall normally be cruising along faster, at around 20kph/13mph). Stopping for rests as needed! Pace of the slowest, looking out for each other.
Back around 2pm.
