Otterspool Promenade

This wonderful tour in the heart of Liverpool incorporates everything the City has to offer, from natural green space, off-road cycle routes and the scenic National Trust Property Speke Hall.

The ride begins at the popular Otterspool Park and heads north alongside the River Mersey and past the tranquil and picturesque Festival Gardens. From there it’s a short ride along the shoreline to Albert Docks, circulating around the Echo Arena and into the heart of the City. Cycling through Duke Street we turn right past the magnificent Liverpool Cathedral and St James Mt and Gardens. Progressing on the National Cycling Network route 56 through Toxteth, Princes Park and Sefton Park. The ride then meanders through Allerton passing Calderstones Park and towards Childwall before converting the roads to the traffic free Liverpool Loop Line of the National Cycle Network 62. The ride follows the NCN62 south to Speke bypassing the airport and through to the National Trust Property of Speke Hall. At Speke Hall you can have a chance for an extended stop to indulge at tearooms and enjoy the gorgeous scenery. Please note there is a fee to enter Speke Hall.

Speke Hall is a rare Tudor timber-framed manor house in a most unusual setting on the banks of the River Mersey. Restored and brought back to life in the 19th century, it is a unique and beautiful mixture of Tudor simplicity and Victorian Arts and Crafts' aesthetics.
