We ride out into the countryside and climb up though the lanes to drop down into Bassaleg, continuing on uphill to Fourteen locks and then along to Newport Riverfront.

We will will have a coffee stop either on the Riverfront or at Tredegar House. The return trip is via route 88 along quiet roads and country paths (fine grit) to St Mellons and back to the start.

A lovely circular route, with the first half being quite hilly, and with great views, and the second half almost flat. We will stop at the top of the bigger hills for a quick breather!

We will be riding mainly on quiet suburban roads and undulating country lanes, with a short stretch on grit/gravel path along the reen.

We will have a cafe stop either in Newport or at Tredegar House.

Please bring a bike lock and also a spare inner tube if you have one, and your cycle helmet. Also some money for the cafe stop.

We never leave anyone behind
