An out and back steady ride along the Erewash canal to the lock keepers cottages. The cottages are open for their monthly open day so we'll stop for a cuppa, cake and a chat.
The cottages are a bit of a mini museum, they haven't changed in years, there's old photos of the area and volunteers who will gladly chat about the history of the canal. There's usually a big roaring fire in winter too :)
