This route is a fab route - it will be challenging for some, but it is all very bike friendly and once up to ogwen cottage its downhill from there with some stunning views along the way. Its so beautiful. It will be weather permitting obviously, i will contact participants a couple of days before.

This is a fab little route in amongst the mountains - it is a mix of traffic free and road riding. We start from Porth Penrhyn (free parking) and make our way steadily (via a cafe) uphill - but when i say steady - its very steady...until the second section and there is a couple of reasonably challenging short hills - but walkable also. From Ogwen cottage its all downhill from there.

Very smooth gravel track (we have had road tyres on it before and they were fine), and very quiet back roads. We do go downhill on the A5 for a short way before peeling off onto other backroads back down to the coast.

I would like to take a quick stop in a lovely little community cafe on route - about 45 minutes into the ride - we can get a hot drink and cake, quick chat and then continue. They sell locally made bread and cakes so if you want to take any you have to bring a bigger rucksack! ;)

Helmets are a must please as we will be on the road at times, layers, water and snacks - please make sure you have something to keep you warm - we will be riding but not at a fast pace and it can get cold in the mountains. Please bring your own pump, inner tube, tools etc - I will have some, but its always ideal to bring your own. We also shouldn't need lights, however, i would always advise at least a rear light for on the road, and i carry a light just incase.

We never leave anyone behind
