Starting from - Small car park at the end of the trail in Hadfield, this is also close to the train station. Helmets are optional. There is a public toilet near the start, and one at about 3.5 miles in - hopefully they'll be open! There are cafe's and a Tesco in Hadfield if you need any supplies, or a post ride coffee. We will stop at the turning point, so if you have a snack or something to eat, we can sit on the old platform and have a break - the trail can be very muddy, so no skinny tyres in the winter. Please bring a drink, and a puncture repair kit or the means to repair a flat tyre, and dress for the weather!, SK13 1QT

Following the old railway line, the Longendale trail, from Hadfield to the closed tunnels that run under Woodhead road - this is a gentle ride, occasionally you may spot a deer. This trail is used by runners and walkers, so be careful of other users, and dogs on extending leads. Estimated time is just a guess, but no one will be left behind. Epic views along the reservoirs and the longendale valley, flat traffic free pedalling, plenty of smiles on this mini adventure!

Meeting in the car park in Hadfield, at the end of the Longendale Trail, this ride goes along the old railway line to the - close off - tunnels at the end of the trail, for a break before heading back.

Majority of this ride is along trail, there is one road crossing

Facilities are limited, there are toilets - which I hope are open - near the start in Hadfield, as well as cafes and a small Tesco. Around 3.5 miles in, there is another opportunity for a toilet break, and we will stop on the old platform at the turning point for a break. Please bring something to eat, or a snack, and water.

Helmets advised, but optional, please bring spare inner tubes and the means to fix a puncture, if you want to buy anything from the shop in Hadfield, then bring some money for that, and a snack or lunch, as well as water, for a break at the turning point. The weather could throw anything at us, so be prepared!

First-timers welcome!
