Another ride in our Cycling for Gold rides. To celebrate this year’s Olympic cycling team, we are off to post a love letter to local hero Jason Kenny. Heading off on this easy-going flat ride, we will cycle mainly along shared cycle paths and the Middlebrook Trail. We then head on a short section of main road into Bolton town centre where we will stop for a café stop at Amico café before continuing on to post our letter! After accomplishing our mission its back to the Middlebrook trail for our return cycle to the Middlebrook retail park.
This ride is aimed at ladies getting back into cycling who wish to increase their confidence in a small group and ladies progressing from s2s. We have a lovely cafe stop for you at Amico so bring your pennies!
Please ensure your bike is in good working condition. Check your gears and brakes and if they are a little bit stiff/rusty and you are not sure how to remedy, take it to your local bike shop. They will be happy to take a look. Although helmets are only recommended by law and not deemed to be essential, anyone not wearing a helmet will not be able to join the ride unfortunately. We do have bikes and helmets to hire if required. Please email [email protected] for further information . Please bring your spare inner tubes, bike levers and pump (don’t worry about the latter if you don’t have one). A lock would be advisable for the café stop. It is essential that all ride participants carry their own PPE, that is mask, anti bac gel/wipes and tissues. First aid consumables will be provided by the leader but you will need to self-medicate if it is safe to do so.
