Starting point

Coniston Boating Centre,
Lake Road,
Coniston
Cumbria
LA21 8EW

Coniston

The ride will start from Machells Coppice Car Park and head south along the east shore of Coniston Water. The road is fairly quiet and the surface generally good, following the shore line for most of the way until we turn across the foot of the lake to cross to the west shore and head north towards Coniston. If the weathers good we will get some great views of the lake and fells.
The first part of the west shore section is on a well surfaced but busy main road until we shortly turn down a quiet single track lane to head back to the shoreline, thence on to Coniston, and back to Machells Coppice.
The router undulates as it progresses but theres no major climbs. As its an evening ride theres no Cafe stops but if need be theres an opportunity to catch a bite in Coniston if need be.
