Leaving from the Velodrome up to Blaenavon via route 49/492
The path starts to ascend as it heads north from Pontypool through Abersychan to Blaenavon, entering a long stretch with views to the east across the valley of Afon Llwyd and plenty of wildlife along the way. With a gentle climb of over 200 metres to Blaenavon it’s obvious that the trip back down to Pontypool will be a much easier ride.

Stopping in Blaenavon for a well earned cuppa before our return home journey.

A good pump, a spare inner tube and a small amount of cash for coffee stops are always a good idea. ●●● Helmets are mandatory...NO HELMET = NO RIDE.
