North Leeds explorer 6- 10 miles depending on group capability

The route starts in the Car Park at Meanwood play ground/park very close to Meanwood primary school. Therefore if you are coming by car to get to the start, you can leave your car in the car park easily. We will ride mainly on cycle paths off road, but also on some minor roads. The route will take in Meanwood, part of Headingley, up to Beckett Park College, through the fields at the back, down into Headingly and around several roads and off road cycle paths round and about the stadium area. Dropping back down through Headingley to Meanwood where we will stop for a drink. We will then bike back , a further few minutes, to Meanwood Park. Depending upon the confidence of the group members, we can amend and/or extend the route as we go along, to ensure we meet everyone's needs.
This group/route is perhaps a precursor to the slightly longer, more adventurous routes often done on a Friday, which set off from Golden Acre Car park i.e. t his ride hopefully helps people get more confidence on their bikes and on quiet roads.
It is a picturesque route around North Leeds.
Please arrive no later than 9.20 eady for a prompt departure by 9.30 at the latest.
If you wish to miss the coffee you will be finished by 10.30, estimated.
If you want coffee, then obviously a bit later.

This is a mixed quiet road/park route for ladies who want an hour or so's relatively gentle meander on a Saturday morning

suburban residential roads around weetwood, headlingley and meanwood.

We can stop near the end in Meanwood - coffee at Maria's café opposite Waitrose.
