Starting point

Nottinghamshire

We ride over to Hucknall Road via the shared footway on the ring road and some side roads. We then join the former Leen Valley Railway route alongside Hucknall Road. It is quite undulating with some short sharp climbs but it means that the climbing is largely complete at the start of the ride. At Moor Bridge we join NCR 6 into Bulwell, where we join the excellent River Leen Path, all the way to the River Trent, via some minor diversions where the Leen lies within private or enclosed land. We then ride along the embankment of the River Trent to the junction with the Nottingham-Beeston Canal. Moving onto the cycle superhighway on Castle Boulevard, we ultimately rejoin the River Leen and through Jubilee Campus. We return to the start via the shared footway along the ring road.

Route rating

5 stars (1) Reviews

This ride is entirely within the city itself, running along the River Leen, River Trent and the Nottingham-Beeston Canal. It is 80%+ plus off road. As a civil engineer I have good knowledge of the bridges and structures that we ride past or under so its informative as well.

The route is 80% plus off road but does include some junctions where we will ride in formation to navigate our way.

We will make 2 or 3 stops along the River Trent and canal to highlight some key historical facts.

Helmets are recommended, especially as we are riding on some roads.

We never leave anyone behind
