Park to Park

Setting off from Halfords in Bolton, we'll take the scenic route to Leverhulme park where we'll follow the River Croal until it joins the River Irwell near Manchester. The route passes through at least five different country parks.

The majority of the route follows designated cycle trails and through parks.The roads that we counter are quiet side roads with little or no traffic. The trail can get muddy in parts so hybrid or wider tyres are preferable.

Hopefully we should be able to stop for refreshments on the route but please bring a snack and drink with you, just in case. There are toilet stops en route at the parks.

As always, a helmet is advisable along with a spare inner tube, pump and bike lock but don't worry too much if you don't have the latter. Money for the cafe stop will be needed.
