We'll meet in the free Car Park off Marconi Way (road to the left of the Oystercatcher pub near Tesco's at Penarth Marina. The car park has a height limit, but there is also on road parking. The start point is very near Cogan train station (on the Barry line out of Cardiff).

From our starting point we'll cross the Pont y Werin and start by heading up the Ely Trail for a short while, we'll then pass through some fairly quiet roads to reach the Taff trail which we'll then head up all the way to Tongwynlais. In Tongwynlais we'll have a short section on a fairly quiet road to reach the Plan2Ride cafe for our refreshment stop. We'll then head back the same way on the Taff Trail staying on this until we reach the Bay Trail which we'll take back to our starting point.

Mostly off road and flat, this is a lovely ride, we'll take it nice and steady and enjoy the views of the river on the way.

Remember warm clothes, gloves, water and money for the cafe stop. A pump and spare inner tube/puncture repair kit would also be useful.

Suitable for all bike types, although parts of the Ely Trail can be a bit rough.
