Pre- D Day Evening ride to RAF Blakehill Farm

75 years ago on this day RAF Blakehill Farm would have been buzzing with Pre- D Day activity. Gliders and Dakotas would be been being prepped and loaded ready. Sadly little to see now but it is still worth a visit to spend a few moments looking at the two memorials and the history boards. We hope to meet local historian Vincent Povey runs www.rafblakehillfarm.co.uk where you can find out lots of very interesting stuff including how the site played a part in the cold war. We will start at the Oasis at 6pm and will pick up anyone wishing to join us at Moulden Hill car park about 20-30 mins later

50% of the route is on cycle paths, tracks and trails, the remainder is on quiet roads.

we will stop at two places at Blakehill Farm but no other stops are planned, so bring water or juice.

Helmets are recommended, please bring front and back lights, spare inner tube and a pump

we welcome new riders but as this is an evening ride we want to be back before it gets too dark. please be aware that this is an 18 mile and we will expect to average about 11 -12 mph. There are NO big hills.
