Quay to Cycling

From Halford's, we weave across town to pick up the Roe Green Loopline to Urmston. We then head to Salford Quays and Media City mainly along roads. After refreshments at Salford Quays, we head west along the Bridgewater Canal back to Monton to retrace our cycle tracks home along the Roe Green Loopline. The ride will be led by Martin and Lesley Doxsey and average speed will be 10mph.

We will be cycling on roads, tracks and canal towpaths. A hybrid bike will be ideal.

Although helmets are only recommended by law and not deemed to be essential, anyone not wearing a helmet will not be able to join the ride. Please be self-sufficient and arm yourself with spare inner tubes, bike levers and pump. Don’t forget your pennies for the café stop. Please ensure you bring along a drink for the ride. Also check you brakes and gears on your bike at least the night before. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before the starting time for a quick bike check and ride briefing.
