Today's Breeze Ride is all about supporting World Rhino Day. Our coffee stop will be at Ranton Village Hall, where they are raising vital funds to save Rhino's from extinction.
This 27 mile ride is quite lumpy on the way out, going up Kemsey Bank followed by the challenge of High Offley before turning for Ranton, where we will stop at Ranton Village Hall. We will be looking to ride at 11-13 miles per hour. (Many of our regulars will have done this route before but with a stop at the Ice cream farm at Haughton, eg the Ride with Jo Rowsell) The hard work is mostly done on the outbound leg as we return via Haughton and Church Eaton. Our Breeze Champions may well be fully lycra clad, but please wear whatever you feel comfortable in for your ride, and suitable for the weather conditions on the day.
As usual, please wear a helmet and bring a bike lock if you have one. Please bring some pennies (or pounds) for our coffee stop at Ranton where we will be partaking in savoury or sweet refreshments (cakes made by our very own Clare Chick's 'Cake Club'), where all profits will go to the Rhino Protection Unit for the vital work they do at Pilanesberg National Park in South Africa.
As usual, we will be riding at the pace of the slowest rider, and whilst only 27 miles in distance, there are some challenging hills, so would suggest this one is not for novices. If our faster ladies want to join us, then please be aware of the published speed. Alternatively, please feel to ride over, or drive over to meet up, we'd love to see you all!
