From Ealing, we ride down to Chiswick Bridge and onto the riverside at Mortlake. We turn up through quiet back roads, perhaps making a detour to visit the remarkable tomb of the 19th century explorer Sir Richard Burton in Mortlake churchyard (https://www.stmarymags.org.uk/tomb-of-sir-richard-burton). Reaching Barnes, we might pause again to admire the pretty village green and duck pond, before making our way back across the river on the historic, and currently traffic-free, Hammersmith Bridge. We have our café stop at the Ravenscourt Park Garden Centre Café (https://w6gardencentre.co.uk/cafe/), before returning to Ealing via Acton.
