Starting from - The Town Hall Square Bike Park

A family afternoon ride with a visit to Abbey Pumping Station where the steam engine will also be running at theFamily Fun day.
The route will pass some examples of 'bring the paint' artwork on the way out and then past the location where some of the clothing for the 1911 race to the south pole came from for both Scott's and Amundsen's teams before arriving at the Pumping Station. The return route will pass some more artwork from 'bring the paint' and
the old Great Central Station.

The route will be mostly traffic free with a small amount of quiet roads

We will stop at Abbey Pumping Station to visit the Summer Family Fun Day, a new event based on a village Gala Day, with old fairground rides, stalls and fun activities for all ages.

Admission to the event will be free to ride participants booked on the ride via the letsride site. (letsride.co.uk).

There is a café at the Pumping Station so bring money if you intend to use it or bring a drink with you.

Bring a lock etc for parking at the Pumping Station
