Starting point

Greater Manchester
M3 4RU

Ride Out Manchester is a Manchester and north-west England based cycling group for LGBT / gay / lesbian / bisexual / transgender cyclists and their friends. All abilities and bike types welcome.

This is a leisurely and most traffic free ride through Manchester and Trafford, taking in a wide range of sites from the wildlife on the rivers and water parks to the bustle of the famous curry mile.

Starting in Sackville Gardens we will follow canal towpaths out of the city centre down towards Stretford, where we will turn off to visit Sale Water Park before following the River Mersey to Chorlton Water Park. From here we will ride through quiet residential roads for about a mile until we reach the Fallowfield Loop. We will follow the Loopline to Platt Fields Park, before joining the Wilmslow Road segregated cycling infrastructure to ride back to the city centre.

The route is ideal for hybrids and trail bikes, road bikes with sturdy tyres should be ok but please be aware there are some rough, gravelly and uneven surfaces on the route which may be a struggle on thinner tyres. All riders are asked to check the weather forecast and dress appropriately, and bring extra warm and waterproof layers with them. Please also bring a spare inner tube and a puncture repair kit with you in case of a puncture.
