Chiswick House is a Palladian villa in Burlington Lane, Chiswick, west London. Arguably the finest remaining example of Neo-Palladian architecture in London, the house was designed by Lord Burlington and completed in 1729. The gardens, which occupy 65 acres, were mainly created by William Kent and are one of the earliest examples of the English landscape garden. This is a ride to visit the cafe there and the conservatory, which is in grounds of the house. There will be a display of heritage Cameliias in bloom in the conservatory

We meet for this ride at Canada Water and follow Quietway 1 to the Lambeth. We then cycle to Putney and Barnes and along the Thames Path to Chiswick Bridge. We then cross the Thames and make our way to Chiswick House, where we will stop for an hour for a refreshment break at the Chiswick House Cafe and will take a look at the grounds and conservatory, where the famous collection of heritage camelias will be in full bloom (see http://chiswickhouseandgardens.org.uk/house-gardens/the-gardens/camellia-collection-conservatory/ ). We then return along the north bank of the Thames, through Furnival Gardens and past Hammersmith to Putney Bridge, where we cross back over the Thames. The ride finishes back at The Cut in Lambeth.
