Ridge Adventure to Alresford

The route is circular and to start we will head towards Easton via cycle route 23 and then goes past the historic house at Avington Park. After that there is a chance to enjoy some spectacular Hampshire views along the ridge to Northington and the moderate climbs are worth it for the view! There is a descent to Abbotstone before going to Alresford for coffee and a chat. The return route will be along the quite streets of Alresford before joining cycle route 23 back to Easton and returning to Winchester via King’s Worthy. Most of the route is along quiet roads and there are a few short sections along fairly busy roads.
Please bring some money and it’s also a good idea to bring some water and a snack. Dress appropriately for the weather and wearing a cycle helmet is strongly recommended. Please bring the usual kit in case of puncture; inner tube, tyre levers and pump and also bring a lock for use at the coffee stop. The Breeze Champions will help with any mechanical problems as far as they are able but are not trained or insured to mend your bike.
The route is not flat, but there will be plenty of stops. We'll always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so that no-one is left behind.
There is a charge for parking at the Leisure Centre (£2.80 for up to 5 hours).
