Route follows a multi user path around part of gunknowe loch were you can see swans and other water nesting birds it then continues along a cyclepath adjacent to the main A6901 bypass before following a cycle path back through Tweedbank to the riverbank at Woodside the route then follows a footpath (of road) that is part of the Borders abbey way trail network it re-joins the main path network in Gunknowe park and passes the opposite side of the loch before finishing back at the start point
