Loopy for Statues and No Squirrels
This ride is suitable for all bikes bikes.
The ride is loosly based on a HSBC guided ride, Liverpool - Southport seaside circular, The ride commences at the Old Esplanade, Southport and travels south along the coast road before turning towards the Formby by-pass and then running along lanes parallel to the Cheshire lines, Trans Penine route through to Netherton. We then turn towards Crosby were we will enjoy the Rimrose Valley Park, before Highways England destroy it with a new road. The lunch stop will be at Waterloo Place gallery and cafe.
The ride will then head north along the coastal path route 810 to Formby and will join the Asparagus route to Freshfield before heading on through Ainsdale and back to the start.
We'll ride at a steady pace of 10 - 12 mph on this ride and we'll keep our pace at a level so that we can all stay together. Remember, this is not a race, but a leisurely ride at a pace to suit the slowest in the group!
Please check your bike over the night before the ride, tyres inflated, all bolts tight, lubricated. Clothing, helmet & lights checked and ready. Please ensure you have a pump and a couple of spare tubes in case of punctures and a good secure lock.
It would be great to have some new & some familiar faces on this ride, you're all welcome & I look forward to riding with you.
Please be at the start point at least 15 mins before the ride start time, ready to ride, so that we are able to get away at the stated start time of 10.05
