This ride is the first ride of the partnership between British Cycling and Saints.
British Cycling are proud to support the Saints Foundation for a third year running, providing training rides building up to and supporting during the Saints Big Bike Challenge in May 2019.
May’s ride will be a 260-mile challenge ride from Huddersfield back to St Mary’s Stadium. More information available here –
https://bookings.saintsfoundation.co.uk/soccerschools/courses/courses.htm?coursesSearch=search&startDate=&typeId=141&ageFrom=&ageTo=&schoolYearFrom=&schoolYearTo=&venueId
This training ride is planned to be a causal no drop social ride, ideal for those thinking about doing the challenge next year, and an opportunity to discuss training for this event, and ask about our training rides we will be organising in 2019.

This lead ride with British Cycling Guided Ride Ride Leaders is a moderate 30-mile route leaving the carpark at Eling Hill, Hampshire, Eling. SO40 9HE.
The route is not overly challenging, and will first head towards Marchwood, before crossing into the New Forest. We will then head down into Beaulieu where there are some cafe options if a break is needed. There is a short climb leaving Beaulieu heading towards Exbury, before going towards the coast with views of Isle Wight. We will stop at Lepe for refreshments at the new visitor centre.
If there are large numbers of participants, we will consider splitting everyone into smaller groups as this ride is intended to be casual paced.

Given the pace, please wear suitable clothing and a helmet is optional. A light, waterproof jacket is almost essential for the British climate. Otherwise just bring something to drinks, spare inner tubes, tyre levers and pump. Please also bring a lock, because the café and bike storage are a short walk apart.

We look forward to meeting you in Eling!
