Saturday Saunter from Sedgefield
Sedgefield - Foxton - Thorpe Larches - NCN route 1 - Sedgefield
Saturday 30th June 2018 10am 15 miles
Start from Hardwick Park TS21 2DN

Join us for a circular ride from Hardwick Park, Sedgefield. The route will take us down a quiet lane to Foxton, then join up with the Castle Eden walkway for a couple of miles, before we take the National Cycle Network route 1 back to Sedgefield. There is a rather overgrown bridleway section near Foxton, so be prepared for a bit of “bushwhacking” and having to dismount for a few hundred metres. Long trousers or leggings may be a good idea as there are likely to be nettles. Otherwise the route should be straightforward with a mixture of quiet road, old railway path and shared cycleways.

This ride is best suited to hybrid, cyclocross or mountain bikes. There are a couple of busy roads to cross, where we will dismount and cross in small groups, hence I would suggest that the ride is not suitable for young children. If you want to ask about this please get in touch. There is a cafe at the Visitor Centre, so if you would like to enjoy a drink, cake or lunch there after the ride please remember to bring some money.

In order for the ride to leave promptly, please be punctual so we can carry out bike checks, etc. prior to us setting off. Please try to bring an inner tube to fit your bike, just in case of a puncture. Expect to be out for 3-4 hours in total.

For any queries please contact us using the "Contact" button next to a rider leader's name below (you will need to scroll down a bit) and any last-minute cancellations on the day please text 07886813007 (note this phone is only for the day of the ride).
