Saturday Short & Steady Ride: Horsenden Farm Shop via Northala & Pitshanger

A short ride out on quiet roads, tracks across open fields and the canal towpath, to reach the weekly Horsenden Farm Shop https://www.horsenden.co.uk/farmshop/ where we will find fresh produce and refreshments, and have an opportunity to find out about the many activities connected to the conservation projects on Horsenden Hill: https://www.horsenden.co.uk/hill/

Our route takes us out of Ealing to the north west, via Perivale Park, to reach the canal towpath where we take a short detour to Northala Fields. If we feel like an adventure, we can ride to the top of one of the mounds! Then we return to the canal towpath and make our way across tracks to the far side of Horsenden Hill, emerging onto the road by the Ballot Box pub. We have a short sharp climb over the top of the Hill and a leisurely descent on the other side, before riding up to the Farm.

After our visit to the Farm Shop, we return to Ealing via Pitshanger Park. If the weather isn’t good enough for refreshments at the Farm Shop, we have the option of a café stop on Pitshanger Lane before our return to Ealing.
