Sunday 22nd August 2021 8:00am

Starting from - We will meet upstairs near the ticket barriers at Stevenage station at 8am - this will give us plenty of time to get tickets and then down to the platform to get our train at 8.20am.
(There are lifts at the station up from the carpark and down to the platforms so we don't need to carry bikes up and down stairs), SG1 1XT

No sharing of personal items.
All of the above is to keep us all safe from the virus.
In view of COVID-19 we will be taking this into account with our ride leading and we will follow govt. guidelines.
• We will not share any equipment so please be organised and bring your own items eg drink, spare inner tube, tyre levers and pump, sun cream and hand sanitiser.
• You should pay particular attention to your bike being in good working order before attending a ride so as to minimise risks and disruption to rides.
• We will ride taking social distancing into account. At the time of writing British Cycling recommend riding at least 1m apart.
• Participants must not attend a ride if they have COVID-19 symptoms or have been in contact with anyone with symptoms
• Anyone who develops COVID-19 symptoms during a ride must inform a leader.
• Anyone who develops COVID symptoms after a ride must contact the leader who will inform British Cycling HQ who will then contact everyone who attended the ride.
Do not attend this ride if you have returned from (anywhere) abroad in the last 2 weeks.

We take the 0820 direct train to Kings Lynn which arrives at 0953. The cost of the return ticket is £15.40 or £10.15 with a railcard or if bought as part of a group of 3 or more. Our cycle route is around 42 miles through North Norfolk lanes to Hunstanton via Sandringham and Heacham. Returning to Stevenage by train from Kings Lynn takes 1 hour 40 mins with a change at Cambridge. We will expect to get one of the following trains home: 1725 (arr 1905) 1754 (arr 1939) or 1825 (arr 2005)

We leave Kings Lynn on a cycle way, much of which is traffic free. The rest of the route is on country lanes; we use a gravel track for just under a mile close to the beach between Heacham and Hunstanton to avoid using a busy main road.

We will stop for morning coffee at the Sandringham visitor centre. For lunch we will stop at Norfolk Lavender Farm at Heacham where there is a cafe or a picnic can be eaten. Hunstanton will be a perfect time for an afternoon ice cream. Before we catch the train back to Stevenage via Cambridge, we will stop to buy some sandwiches or similar to eat on the way home - alternatively bring your own food/drink.

We will need to be very self-sufficient so bring a good repair kit and appropriate clothes for the weather. Bring plenty of water and some snacks plus appropriate spare clothes for the weather. You will need some money for the train fare plus food and drink at our stops. There are no entrance charges at the Sandringham visitor centre or the Lavender Farm.
