Shunters Tea Rooms

We'll follow the A4054 out of Cardiff up to Coryton Roundabout. We'll take the cycle path through the roundabout and rejoin the A4054 in Tongwynlais. Then it's the A4054 all the way to Merthyr Tydfil. On the way out of Merthyr we'll pick up the cycle path across the viaduct and then join a lovely track which will take us almost to Pontsticill Reservoir. The last section of our outward journey is along country lanes to Shunters Tea Rooms at Brecon Mountain Railway. After the stop in Shunters Tea Rooms we'll cross the dam at the base of Pontsticill reservoir and then join lanes. There's a challenging climb early on before we drop down Vaynor Road and back to Merthyr. We'll generally retrace the route back to Cardiff with just a couple of scenic detours.
